We are seeking dedicated individuals to join us as full-time, on-site team members at our new, state-of-the-art factory located in the thriving city of DeSoto, Kansas. Position Summary: Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America (PECNA) is currently seeking a skilled Employee Relations Manager to be a part of our team at the Kansas facility site. This role will conduct investigations into workplace concerns and support positive employee engagement. This role will work closely with the Human Resource Business Partners, Legal, Compliance teams and business leaders to promote equity, company values, and accountability in the workplace and to respond appropriately and fairly to employee concerns. Essential Duties: Conduct prompt, fair, impartial, and thorough investigations into sensitive employee relations issues and PECNA policy violations; may also investigate allegations relating to discrimination, harassment, and retaliation in conjunction with or at the direction of the Office of Ethics and Compliance. Thoroughly document investigative efforts internally using a case management system. Conduct investigatory interviews, collect, and analyze relevant evidence, write investigation reports, and deliver debriefs with relevant stakeholders. Ensure consistent application of PECNA policies, procedures, and compliance. Formally respond to sensitive concerns and allegations as required by internal processes Foster effective relationships with HR teams, legal counsel, and business leaders. Partner with team members throughout the PECNA organization to communicate and educate on policies, procedures, and compliance. Participate in the development and deployment of ER related training and other team projects as needed, which may include the use of data analytics to identify reactive and proactive initiatives to address the employee experience Consistently demonstrate and promote PECNA performance competencies, with special emphasis on building trust and serving others. Manage and guide a team of ER investigators, providing mentorship and support to enhance team effectiveness and maintain high standards in employee relations practices. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements: To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees’, wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. Qualifications Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred Education Basic/Required: Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field, or equivalent work experience. Preferred: Juris Doctorate, MBA or Masters’ in Psychology Essential Qualifications Minimum 4 years of relevant employee relations or HR experience, preferably focused on ER investigations, employment law, performance management, and/or HRBP roles, with at least 1-2 years of experience managing HR professionals. Knowledge of applicable workplace laws, regulations, and employment trends. Ability to work both independently and part of a team. Demonstrated strong organizational skills, discretion, and ability to manage confidential information. Flexibility – critical for a start-up environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word and can use the computer to complete online learning requirements for -specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment. Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. Preferred: bilingual (English/Spanish) Resilient, self-motived and able to work well under pressure. Strong interpersonal skills, as demonstrated by strong written and oral communication, and high emotional intelligence. Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment. Develop trust and rapport and influence cross-functional partners and business leaders. Remain respectful and empathetic when confronted with difficult and uncomfortable situations surrounding an investigation and/or performance management. Able to handle confidential information in a mature and professional manner. Ability to navigate ambiguity within a fast moving and changing environment. Ability to use independent judgment, reasoning and analysis, problem-solving skills, and creativity in helping the business solve complex problems. Effective at managing time and resources while prioritizing and balancing multiple commitments with some input from manager.
