**Summary**
The Employee Relations Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting construction leaders regarding employee relations and ensuring a highly engaged workforce. This role requires the ability to build relationships, utilize excellent communication skills, and a deep desire and ability to understand the construction industry. The Employee Relations Specialist will be passionate about creating a positive work environment and driving employee engagement while aligning HR strategies with the company's objectives
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
**Employee Relations:**
+ Proactively manages employee relations issues, including conducting investigations, providing guidance on conflict resolution, and ensuring compliance with applicable labor laws and regulations.
+ Advise, support and problem solve employee request for job accommodations, ensuring compliance with FMLA, applicable laws and company policies.
+ Regularly visits employees and supervisors on-site at office and project-specific locations to inspire trust and open lines of communication about needs of the business and how that translates to HR initiatives.
+ Supports the performance management process by identifying and clarifying problems, evaluating potential solutions, providing coaching, feedback, and guidance to supervisors and employees to improve individual and team performance.
+ Ensures compliance with all HR policies, procedures, and regulations, and maintains accurate employee records.
+ Stays updated on industry trends and best practices in HR to continuously enhance the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives.
+ Collaborates with the HR team to support professional development and enhance employee skills within the construction industry.
+ Collaborates with the HR team to support the development and delivery of training programs that promote professional development and enhance employee skills within the construction industry.
**Leadership Support:**
+ Collaborates with HR leadership and Kraus Anderson Construction Company (KACC) Operations and Field leadership to implement HR strategies and initiatives that support the construction company's goals and objectives.
+ Serves as a trusted resource to management and employees and provides guidance on talent management, employee relations, and performance management.
+ Provides leaders and teams with regular updates on all HR initiatives and programming available to employees during on-site visits and in team meetings.
+ Partners with project managers and construction superintendents to address specific HR needs related to site operations, safety protocols, and staffing requirements.
**Projects:**
+ Supports the development of and implements effective employee retention strategies to attract and retain top talent in a competitive construction industry.
+ Analyzes HR metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and recommends appropriate solutions.
Other duties as requested by supervisor.
**Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
+ 3+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in the construction industry with an employee relations emphasis
+ In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations specific to the construction industry
+ Experience in supporting strategic workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and coaching
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization
+ Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with stakeholders to drive HR initiatives and achieve business objectives
+ Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with a proactive and results-oriented approach
+ Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
+ Proficiency in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office 365 Suite, and other HR-related software
+ Comfortable with and skilled in conflict resolution.
+ Ability to maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
+ Ability to possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others
**Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:**
+ Construction Industry experience
+ Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR)
**Other:**
+ Valid Driver's License, ability to maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record, and ability to adhere to the KA Motor Vehicle Policy.
+ Travel required up to 25% of the time

+ Lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
**Salary Range:** $75,000 to $90,000 annually, plus discretionary incentive program.
Pay is based on many factors including but not limited to education, skill, experience, training, certifications, and other business needs.
