Description of Work Unit
Founded in 1870, Colorado State University is among the nation’s leading research universities and enrolls approximately 32,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. The Career Center is part of the Division of Student Affairs with strong and broad-reaching relationships and responsibilities throughout campus, including the academic colleges. Divided into three units (Career Education; Employer Connections; and Operations), the Career Center not only provides career-related-advising and -services to students, it fills many additional functions critical to the success of the university and students, including, but not limited to, campus-wide career fair coordination and job/internship postings, employer relations, institutional career outcome reporting, and student employment leadership.
The Career Center is responsible to a variety of internal and external stakeholders and leverages those relationships to help students investigate the many available professional opportunities with special consideration for finding paths that meet their skills, goals, values, and unique identities. Position Summary
The Employer Relations Coordinator is a full-time position responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with employers recruiting CSU students for jobs and internships. The Employer Relations Coordinator creates employer outreach strategies that meet the needs of students while balancing the needs of employers and multiple industries. This position leverages the Career Center’s Rams Recruitment Services Program to create effective recruitment packages for employers, facilitates recruitment intake, strategy, and reflection meetings, manages the asks and invoices of these packages, and follows through on coordinating events, branding, messaging, and other recruitment services. The Employer Relations Coordinator will demonstrate a commitment to valuing social justice and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment through employer education and event planning.
This position leverages relationships with key campus partners including other Career Center staff to ensure commitments to employers are executed and the employers’ recruitment goals are reached. This position supports other Career Center events and programming such as Career Fairs, industry-focused events, site visits, panels, and more. The Employer Relations Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Employer Relations and serves as a key member of the university-wide Career Center and participates in all Career Center activities.

+ Coordinate employer involvement in career-related programming with external partners, for example, help recruit employers for United in STEMM events or for panelist opportunities
+ Sell the Career Center’s Rams Recruitment Services Program, the Career Center’s employer partner program, to employers; create invoices for employers and track payment; develop and coordinate customized student recruitment, branding and marketing packages to support the unique needs of each employer; conduct assessments of student recruitment, branding and marketing packages with employers ensuring expectations were met and adjust services as appropriate
+ Help ensure Career Center events, programs, and services meet the needs of prospective and current employers; adjust events, programs, and services, as needed; collaborate with the Career Center’s Event Coordinator to align events and programs with the Career Center’s events and program strategy; customize programs to accommodate the unique needs of employers; leverage both personnel and fiscal resources
+ Develop and disseminate information about employer engagement opportunities within the Career Center and across campus connecting students, staff, and faculty with career development opportunities
+ Meet and coordinate regularly with Career Education Team members, Career Center Operations Team members, and other Career Center staff in order to execute employer outreach plans to students
+ Foster collaborative, inclusive partnerships with employers and university departments to provide quality career experiences for students
+ Communicate with campus partners, specifically other career-related offices, to share information about career events, foster collaboration, and encourage student and employer participation in career events
+ Lead cross-functional teams, including Career Center staff, campus staff, and employers to envision, design, and coordinate programs and events
+ Maintain a portfolio of events, including employer meet-and-greets, on-campus interviews, and other events and workshops
+ Recruit employers for employer-related events such as Career Fairs and Industry-focused Events
+ Help coordinate and plan two annual Employer Advisory Board meetings

+ Based on the recruitment strategy and in collaboration with the Director of Employer Relations, identify employer contacts, develop relationships, and initiate new employer partnerships through the Career Center’s Rams Recruitment Services Program to source CSU students and alumni for jobs and internships
+ Research industry needs and listen to the unique recruiting needs of employers, use the information gained to build customized engagement opportunities to meet employers’ recruitment needs
+ Promote the benefits of recruiting CSU students to employers; market different services such as the Career Fairs and events, alumni and industry expert panels, industry-specific networking opportunities, employer site visits, on-campus interviews, and educational workshops
+ Communicate CSU policies, Career Center employer relations guidelines and standard processes, in alignment with National Association of College and Employers ( NACE ), CSU Career Center, and state/federal law to ensure fair and equitable recruiting processes for employers and students
+ Consult with employers demonstrating a commitment to social justice and encouraging equitable and inclusive working environments; provide advice and information on a variety of issues including internship best-practices, share student concerns and feedback, and effectively utilize Handshake; promote Parker Dewey Micro-Internships; connect employers with appropriate campus partners

+ Develop an employer relations strategy in partnership with the Director of Employer Relations and the Employer Relations Team to create intentional partnerships with employers and to reach revenue goals
+ Conduct independent research to ensure CSU’s recruitment strategy is aligned with market, employment, and industry trends, as well as student and alumni employment data; use the Career Center’s Employer Advisory Board to gather data on employer and industry trends
+ Coordinate with the Career Center’s Career Education Unit, the Office of Corporate Relations, College Development Teams, the College of Business Career Management Center, the Alumni Association, and others to ensure streamlined strategy, communications with, and outreach to employers
+ Compile and analyze data on employer activity within Handshake and make decisions for deeper engagement with employers in identified target areas
+ Engage with employers on topics surrounding diversity, equity, and inclusion to learn more about their organizational culture; work with employers to create effective recruitment strategies to recruit diverse talent at CSU using equitable and inclusive recruitment practices
