GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This position serves on the Wyoming Retirement System (WRS) Employer Reporting Team as one of four team members, including a supervisor. This position is responsible for employer compliance as it pertains to reporting of retirement contributions, membership and plan administration. The Employer Reporting Team coordinates, handles and reconciles contributions for eight (8) defined benefit plans.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.
+ Provide technical assistance and support to agencies for the WRS employer portal and coordinate with the WRS Technology Team for escalated issues.
+ Research and assist agency personnel and WRS staff with questions related to eight (8) defined benefit plan reporting, compliance and requirements.
+ Be able to troubleshoot, research and provide information to help remediate technical issues, incorrectly reported member data and account/agency data and financial adjustments.
+ Manage and track individual workload and projects while keeping your direct supervisor informed of workload status and training needs.
+ Methodically researches and prepares recommendations for the supervisor to determine final qualifications and determinations for complex department transactions.
+ Works in collaboration and under the direction of the department supervisor and with the WRS communications team to create educational materials for employers.
+ Helps to create, review and revise education materials (includes flyers, quick reference materials, website videos, etc) and emails created for employers. Hosts and schedules in-person and online training for employer point of contacts. Work with other WRS department teams to help revise agency forms as needed.
+ Record, review and reconcile employer contributions reported and received via direct deposit and paper check. Types of contributions received include active/ current contributions, prior period contributions, workers compensation contributions, military service purchase contributions, redeposit of contributions, and service purchase contributions.
+ Experience working with payroll systems and banking web based services. Experience or ability to learn how to work with the state WOLFs accounting system and State Treasurer’s Office online deposit system.
+ Compliance monitoring of reported data and contributions as assigned to remediate identified member and employer data reported incorrectly or in error.
+ Compliance monitoring as assigned for rehired retiree, terminations dates, final contribution and plan participation reporting.
+ Collate and structure complex matters in writing to assist in-house general counsel and/ or the internal audit teams with legal and audit determinations.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE:
+ Knowledge of the benefit and actuarial structures of the eight defined benefit plans administered by WRS.
+ Understanding of Wyoming Retirement Act and internal policies.
+ Skilled in mathematics of finance, algebraic calculation, oral and written communication, time management, and organization.
+ Skilled in gathering, evaluating, and computing financial data, including high/analytical thinking and reasoning.
+ Demonstrates professional communication and ability to work with various stakeholders at all levels.
+ Maintains a high level of independent performance and seeks supervisor help when appropriate.
+ Helps to promote a collaborative and team environment.
+ Working knowledge of software programs and IT systems such as Microsoft Suite, Google G-Suite and RAIN.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (typically in Finance)
Experience:
0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Accountant
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Accountant
