We’re looking for an Employment Legal Counsel to join Snap’s Employment Legal team for a 6-month period starting April 2025. As a member of the Legal team, you’ll provide strategic advice and legal counsel regarding employment law issues globally. Working from one of Snap’s UK offices, you will partner closely with other employment attorneys and cross-functional partners across the globe.
What you’ll do:
Provide employment law counseling, advice, and day-to-day support for the People Team globally
Guide and advise on the development and implementation of employment policies and practices (including hiring practices, performance management, employee relations, internal investigations, terminations, leaves of absence, works councils, working time, compensation, and benefits) to ensure best practices and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Partner with cross-functional teams, including the Legal and HR teams, to provide business-oriented employment law guidance for successful execution of company initiatives
Collaborate with the People team to generate training on employment law topics to improve internal processes
Provide legal guidelines and support regarding the company’s contingent workforce and agency workers
Manage the full range of employment litigation and regulatory matters, including the management of external counsel where appropriate.
Draft and revise employment-related agreements (including employment agreements, confidentiality and intellectual property agreements, and settlement agreements), and train the People team on usage of appropriate templates
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Outstanding written and verbal communication and analytical skills with demonstrated strategic thinking and risk analysis
Excellent interpersonal skills and business judgment with a dedication to teamwork, integrity, and collegiality
Proven track record to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Flexible and willing to approach legal challenges with an entrepreneurial mentality
Minimum Qualifications:
Fully qualified solicitor in the UK
Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification legal experience
Valid active practicing certificate experience employment counseling and litigation experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior law firm experience, as well as in-house experience at a multinational company
Global employment law experience
