Position Summary:

Provide employment related assistance to clients using a strengths based approach.   Utilize established protocols, curriculum and resources to help clients find and maintain employment that ensures a path to self -sufficiency.   Assist clients in transportation to interviews and other job related events.

Position Description:

Meet with clients individually or in a group to assess needs related to employmentComplete screening, assessment, and documentation related to employment history, skills and abilities, vocational goals, and identifying strengths and barriersFacilitate skills development, assist clients with resume writing, job seeking plans and obtaining necessary identification Provide services in advocacy, financial planning, referral and linkage to community resourcesProvide vocational planning and training opportunities based on knowledge of local employment resources and client ability, needs and circumstances.Transport clients as necessary in agency vehiclesEfficiently operates personal computer to enter and/or retrieve dataAccurately prepare required reports and services plans using agency software systemWork to prevent and resolve client/employer problems as neededCollaborate with other program staff to ensure client needs are metConduct employment verifications, documents services delivered and conducts follow-upOther duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of local employment market opportunities, barriers and trendsUnderstanding of potential client circumstances that may impact employment opportunitiesKnowledge of educational and vocational appraisal techniquesAccurate, timely recordkeeping and attention to detailAbility to resolve/deescalate crises; use crisis intervention skills and anticipate/prevent crises relating to clientsFoster spirit of teamwork and positive work environmentComply with Code of Ethics, Conflict of Interest other and regulatory policies and procedures

Job Requirements:

Associate’s Degree in related field or;High School Diploma or GED and 4 years’ experience working with related populationValid driver’s license and auto insurance

Essential Functions/Physical Demands:

Positional: Frequent standing, sitting and walking. Driving in accordance with the job duties assigned.Gross Mobility: Rare climbing, crawling, crouching and kneeling. Infrequent balancing and stooping. Frequent to constant reaching and handling.
