Job Brief

Assists persons receiving services to retain positions in supported employment positions in the community and develop skills necessary for living independently.

Shift Worked: 9:00AM-5:00PM Weekly Hours: 37.5 FLSA Status: Non Exempt Pay range: $26.00-26.00

POSITION DUTIES:

Trains individuals to work in supported employment, competitive employment, and volunteer positions in the community. Assists in the identification of appropriate employment and volunteer sites. Assists in the meeting individual activities of daily living needs in conjunction with personal care attendants. Provides training to persons receiving services support personnel (e.g., personal care attendants) on how to work on employment sites. Assists in the development of worksite modifications (reasonable accommodations). Orients supervisory staff and co-workers to issues regarding disabilities. Works with families, clinicians, and other persons in the network of support to provide and gain support for persons receiving services. Participates in the management of government benefit issues as they pertain to employment. Collects data and maintains participant records that are mandated by federal, state and local governmental agencies. Arranges transportation to the work site and travel trains the participants as needed. Facilitates the social integration of the participant in the work environment. Coordinates vocational services with agencies such as the Office of Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID) and Office for People with Development Disabilities (OPWDD). Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors Degree in Human services or related fields preferred. Must have one-year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, or traumatic brain injuries. Must be personal computer proficient with Microsoft Word. Must travel to all sites in all five boroughs on a regular basis. Performs all job responsibilities in full compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Adheres to the agency’s corporate compliance program, including the code of business conduct, the NYS and federal false claims acts, whistleblower protections and mandatory reporting. Completes corporate compliance training at least annually. Fully cooperates in all corporate compliance investigations and reviews. Share
