Employment Training Coordinator

Available Position:

Location: Omaha, NEFull-time; 40 hours per weekMonday-Friday; 7:30 am to 3:30 pmWage: $18.75 per hour

In this role, you will coordinate and provide pre-vocational training and support to consumers with disabilities in a facility-based employment setting. Complete comprehensive assessments, individual support plans and daily service plan follow up. Utilize job coaching strategies to instruct individuals on proper work habits. Help consumers develop work skills through light assembly and packaging tasks for local businesses.

Job Responsibilities:

Ensuring all consumers are treated with respect and dignity, recognizing individual needs and encouraging independenceAuthor all Behavior Support, Safety Plans, Habilitative Programs and take lead in trainingSupervise, evaluate, and coordinate activities of subordinatesPerform training and appropriate modeling of employability practicesAdvise consumer on how to develop their vocational and educational objectivesImplement plans developed by and with the inter-disciplinary teams and other appropriate professionalsProvide general supervision and guidance to consumersAdminister medications under direction of physicianConsult with supervisor concerning program plans for consumersAssist consumers, as necessary, into and out of automobiles, wheelchair, lavatory, and other activities of daily living and/or life functionAssist with community access as requiredAssist consumers with participation on life enrichment activities·Assist with personal care (toileting, feeding, hygiene, etc.) for consumers as neededExplain to consumers and their stakeholders the organization’s policies and proceduresSubmits and reviews reports with supervisorChart consumer habilitation programs, maintaining accurate and complete consumer file information in a timely fashionAbility to understand and implement a variety of Behavior Support Plans, Habilitation Programs, and Individual Service Plan per each consumers’ outcomes and goalsLearn production jobs used as training opportunities and teach those skills to clientsProvide information on and refer individuals to public or private agencies and community services for assistanceMaintain a clean and safe working environmentImplement approved emergency procedures in the event of a fire, tornado, or other natural disastersRole model appropriate behaviors for consumersRegular and punctual attendance during scheduled hours is essential

Requirements:

One years’ experience performing similar functions in a similar organizationMust be at least 19 years of ageCompletion of High School Diploma or GEDPossess a valid driver's license and current auto insurancePass all background checks: criminal, DMV, dependent adult and child abuse registryCompassionate and patient demeanorStrong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a teamAAbility to adapt to changing needs and prioritiesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent organizational and time management skillsExcellent in-person and electronic communication skills and interpersonal skills
