Instruction: • Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credit/occupational courses • Prepares standardized course syllabi using a provided template • Utilizes current technology in the classroom/lab • Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives based on established course grading requirements • Grades all coursework in a timely manner • Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports • Provides instruction in the theory and practical applications of EMS • Measures program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success and submits results to the program director • Ensures safety and security measures are met in the discipline area • Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the discipline Other Duties as Assigned Competencies: • Knowledge of best practices, rules, and testing needs; • Ability to break larger tasks into manageable smaller tasks; • Oral and written communication skills; • Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs; • Skill in accurate recordkeeping; • Organizational skills; • Skills in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public; • Decision making and problem-solving skills. Work Environment: This job operates in a professional classroom/lab/field environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, EMS equipment and technologies. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is an adjunct instructional position. Work load varies and can be scheduled Monday-Friday day/evening hours. Travel: Travel to other campuses is a possibility for meetings, trainings, professional development, etc.… Required Education and Experience: • Current Georgia Healthcare Provider License (continuous 2-year licensure) in any EMS level OR Registered Nurse (RN); Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA), Medical Doctor (MD) *and* • Two (2) years related work experience • Current CPR Certification • EMS Instructional Preparation Curriculum within the previous 3 years Preferred Education and Experience: • Associate degree or higher • Current American Heart Association (AHA) certificates in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) • Teaching Experience on the post‐Secondary Level; • Experience with Blackboard Ultra • Strong computer, communication, and interpersonal skills; Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
