EMS Controls RACK Technician

This position will travel and is responsible to provide basic assistance in the installation and retrofitting of new energy management systems within supermarkets on projects designed to ensure efficient power use in the lighting, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems. Lay out and pulling cable or wire, mounting enclosures, boards, and VFD’s on existing and operational equipment. Provide assistance to the Foreman on small, selected portions of the project in order to gain additional knowledge, as needed. Filling out project completion documentation as required by Coolsys and/or customer Performs other related duties and projects assigned by management. Clear and concise communication with foreman, store and/or facility personnel. Must be able to travel to projects across the US, arrange their own travel accommodations, and submit accurate expense reports in a timely manner. Qualifications Basic knowledge of electronic controls, refrigeration systems, or electrical systems. Knowledge of and ability to use hand and power tools, safety equipment, within best practices of commercial installation guidelines. Basic understanding of high voltage,115V, 208, 460V systems and hazards. Basic understanding of refrigerant systems, pressures, hazards and best practices of mechanical system operation and installation. Understanding refrigerated product integrity and product loss liabilities. Organize and manage material in an efficient manner to optimize productivity with minimal waste. Ability to read prints, plans, diagrams and details of the store layout. Ability to work with minimal supervision, making decisions that will enhance project quality and not delay productivity. Ability to work at high elevations, such as 14 ft ladders, roofs and scissor lift. Scissor lift certification may be required if not currently certified. Maintain high level of safety consciousness of hazards to self, co-workers, and other trades within the jobsite and facility. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED, and trade or technical school classes. Certification or certificate is recommended but not required. 2-4 years’ experience in construction or related industry.
