The Electron Microscopy Specialist's (EPMA Microprobe), primary responsibilities will involve the operation, upkeep and performing critical EPMA analyses required to support GE Aerospace. The position will also likely involve, at times, broader support including analyses by Scanning Electron Microscopy, as required.

Roles and Responsibilities

As an Electron EPMA Microscopist, your primary responsibilities will include:

Executing, with guidance from engineering and production resources, analyses by EPMA (Electron Microprobe).Prepare, analyze and present technical data to a large internal / external customer baseDocument and communicate results of the technical data generatedResponsible for coordinating equipment maintenance and performing routine maintenance procedures and ensure Electron Microscopy Lab supplies are availableStay informed on latest Microprobe (EPMA) techniques and equipmentParticipate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives

Required Qualifications

Familiarity and experience in the operation and data analysis relative to EPMA (Electron Microprobe)Bachelor’s in Engineering, Geology. Physics, Chemistry from an accredited college or university (OR an Associates (2 yr) degree with a minimum 4 years of operational experience / analyses utilizing electron microscopes)Electron Microscopy Experience including Microprobe (2 years minimum)U.S. Citizen

Familiarity with SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) operation and related techniques / equipmentMetallographic / microscopy preparation techniques (ex. sample prep)Strong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills and ability to influence othersStrong project management skillsAbility to work with and prioritize workload during high workload periodsWorks effectively independently and within teams
