Short DescriptionThe EMS Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for the development/implementation/advancement and evaluation of a comprehensive, regionalized EMS outreach program in the Southern New Jersey Region.
Responsibilities will include educational, marketing and public relation activities relative to Pre-hospital care providers.
It shall be within the scope of the EMS Outreach position to represent Cooper University Hospital in local, regional, state and national EMS Organizations as directed
Responsible as a representative of the Regional Trauma Center for Southern New Jersey and Cooper University Hospital to be available, and offer consultation regarding EMS pre-hospital education/outreach programs
The EMS Outreach Coordinator acts as a liaison between Cooper University Hospital and local EMS services. The EMS Outreach Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining a strong, positive relationship between the hospital and area EMS providers. This position focuses on EMS relationships, education, performance Improvement, regulatory issues and business building opportunities through collaboration with local prehospital stakeholders.
Education/ Training program development and implementation: Create custom education and training programs to meet the specific needs of prehospital providers and/or agencies
Participate in multidisciplinary PI programs representing prehospital care
The EMS Outreach Coordinator will work collaboratively with internal Cooper departments to enhance educational oppurtunities and to disseminate policies and/or protocols specific to that department to prehospital providers.
Experience RequiredSuccessful completion of 3 month probation period, minimum of 1 year paramedic experience, minimum of 5 years pre-hospital experience.
Public speaking experience essential.
Education RequirementsHigh School Diploma or Equivalent required.
License/Certification RequirementsCurrent EMT-Paramedic certification ; NREMT-P preferred; NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification preferred.
Current ACLS, certification Current PALS, or PEPP or EPC certification; Instructor status preferred
Current PHTLS certification; instructor status preferred
Obtain PHTLS, instructor certifications within a year of hire.
Current state issued driver’s license
All candidates must be at least 21 years of age by start date to comply with vehicle insurance requirements.
Criteria for Employee Base Fleet Driver Eligibility:
Driver must be between the ages of twenty-one (21) and seventy-nine (79)Driver must show proof of valid personal automobile insurance coverage in the State of New Jersey.Driver has no reported driving related violations or accidents in the past three (3) years Special Requirementsfull time, 40 hours a week
