SUMMARY:
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to provide out of hospital care per established protocols, under the direction of the medical director, appropriate to the age of each patient. Provides a wide range of patient treatment and care based on patient needs. Assists patient care and clinical service departments as priorities allow.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of accredited EMT course and successful passing of the National Registry or Iowa EMT test. One year experience as an EMT is preferred.
CERTIFICATION and LICENSURE:
National or Iowa EMT Registry certification required. Must be current in or attend the first available class to obtain certifications BLS for the healthcare provider, PHTLS Provider and Hazardous Response at Operations Level. Current certification in Child/Dependent Adult Abuse Reporting or willingness to complete within 6 months of hire.
