 Job Summary: The Paramedic will provide emergency medical care and transportation for patients. This position will also perform departmental duties for CarolinaEast Health System, EMS department, and the EMS manager.

Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Current North Carolina Paramedic credential. Have and maintain a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in the State of North Carolina. Any personnel operating a CarolinaEast owned ambulance must have a minimum of three years' driving experience. Ability to drive an ambulance safely and efficiently. Successful completion of Emergency Vehicle Drive (EVD) course within one year of hire. Maintenance of EVD certification; required EVD refresher course every two yeras. One year experience at the Paramedic level preferred. Current AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS certification. Obtain PHTLS certification within one year from date of hire. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. The individual must possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status. The employee must be able to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed, as described in the unit's/ area's/ department's policies and procedures.
