 Job Summary: The Paramedic II is responsible for assessing, planning, directing, coordinating, providing, and evaluating care for patients using critical thinking, judgment, and leadership skills. The Paramedic II is accountable to the EMS Manager, serving as role model and resource to unit level EMS personnel.

 Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Current North Carolina EMT-Paramedic credential. Have and maintain a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in the State of North Carolina. Demonstrated ability to drive an ambulance safely and efficiently. Successful completion of EVOC training and certification within one year of hire. Maintenance of EVOC certification; required EVOC recertification training. Two years' experience at the EMT-Paramedic level. Six months experience at CarolinaEast Health System. Current AHA BCLS, ACLS, PALS, PHTLS certification. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status. The employee must be able to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed, as described in the unit'/ area's/ department's policies and procedures.
