About you and this role - What you will do in this role
As the Emulsions Senior Production Engineer, you serve as a vital resource for Operations by applying technical skills to optimize plant operations, resolve plant problems, and enable safe and efficient production of low cost, quality products. This role requires broadened conceptual and working knowledge and experience in job discipline to perform a range of work assignments.
Responsibilities - Duties, projects, tasks, and activities you would be responsible for in this role
Work closely with the operations team (operators, TA's, TICA Engineer, and AC/GK) leveraging their problem-solving skills and technical expertise.Elevate and appropriately apply knowledge of the plant and technology referencing historical data and conferring with Technology Center or other subject matter experts (SMEs).Ensure Most Effective Technology (MET) is understood and utilized, and that process automation is used as a tool to optimize plant performance.Utilize defined MET and challenge/escalate MET application and assumptions when better solutions arise.Partner with experts to perform advanced troubleshooting and improve and document operating discipline.Diagnose and document root causes of asset utilization losses, UPE's, and quality incidents in the facility.Understand why specific procedure steps and precautions are needed and keeps a strong field presence to reinforce the importance.Utilize Aspen/IP-21 to trouble-shoot process and issues within the plant.Utilize Delta V to troubleshoot process automation for batch reactor units.Conduct daily review of logbook and alarm history to better understand the plant operation and stay engaged with daily activities.Maintain, own, and review daily Key Process Indicators (KPI)/ trends to ensure optimum performance within the IPS structure.Respond urgently to plant issues and emergencies.Act as a unit technical expert during unplanned events & abnormal batches and drives implementation of effective corrective and preventative actions.Provide leadership, expertise, diagnosis, and optimization in plant Raw Material Efficiency, which may include yield or waste generation.Ensure compliance with plant operating permits. Understands site integration and provides input to optimize the overall system.Qualifications - Required education, experience and abilities that are needed for this role (must haves)
A Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Material Science / Metallurgical Engineer.A minimum of 3 years experience in an operations manufacturing engineer role or equivalent. Willing and able to work a rotating on call technical support schedule.A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.Preferred Skills
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in chemical, mechanical, or material science/metallurgical engineering is crucial.
