Encap Machine Operator 2nd Shift - Forsyth, MO
Perform various duties to manufacture nutritional supplement products in the Encapsulation Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management retains the discretion to add to or change the duties of the position at any time. Attendance is key to performing the job. Include, but are not limited to, the following;Operate a semi-automatic and automatic encapsulating machines, including inspection apparatus.Conduct visual inspection of encapsulated product to detect and remove defective products.Cleaning and General Maintenance: Cleaning and maintenance of encapsulation areas.Record Keeping: Documentation of batch/lot numbers and recording of data.Cross train on various equipment and in other departments.Properly clean and place numbers on barrels to be used in encapsulation rooms.Take capsule weights and make adjustments when necessary to automatic encapsulation machines.Make part change overs and minor repairs on all encapsulating machines when needed.Properly clean and prepare encapsulating machines for the next formula of powder.Inspect capsules as they are produced by the encapsulating machines when needed.Operate and read scales.Serve as backup for Machine Operators / Semi-automatic as necessary.EQUIPMENT USED:Semi-automatic and automatic machines, inspection apparatus, scales, and computer.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience.LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES: Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Must have manual dexterity, attention to detail and the ability to follow directions.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear.The employee frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms.The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel and crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.Repetitive hand movements are required.Personal Protection Equipment is required including a forced air respirator.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.The employee often must lift up to 50 pounds.
