Project Operations Manager – Drive Systems

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will independently manage your own projects as an EoW Project Manager, ensuring the successful execution of global customer projects, which typically encompass complete variable speed drive systems.The work model for the role is: hybrid #LI-hybridThis role contributes to the Drive Systems projects within our Product Group Packaging in the Motion Business Area. Main stakeholders are project teams, customers, and internal business partners.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tManaging projects from delivery to end of warranty by structuring, planning, budgeting, and ensuring commercial success (revenue, cash flow, NWC, margins).•\tEnsuring project compliance with contractual, Health & Safety, and Quality standards while building and maintaining strong customer relationships through regular on-site presence worldwide.•\tLeading project teams by establishing and coordinating commissioning teams, optimizing resource allocation across ABB hubs and local organizations, and ensuring smooth operations.•\tOverseeing project execution through continuous monitoring, reporting, and driving internal improvements using Lean Six Sigma methodology to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications for the role

You have a degree in Electrical Engineering or Business Administration, combined with technical skills and at least four years of experience in managing complex customer projects.You demonstrate expertise in drives, electrical motors, and transformers, with experience overseeing system-supply projects involving these components.You are qualified in project management methodologies such as IPMA, PMP, or ABB-certified processes, and you are familiar with modern Office tools (Outlook, SharePoint, Teams) as well as MS Project.You are passionate about customer focus, leadership, and embracing challenges while taking the initiative to improve the working environment in alignment with business area strategies.You are adept at managing a global network of suppliers and navigating complex organizational structures, with strong contract and claim management knowledge.You are fluent in English, with additional languages—especially German—being a major asset.You excel in using modern tools such as Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, and MS Project to drive results with advanced analytical and communication skills.
