End User Computing Spec III
Job Description:The End User Computing Specialist III plays a crucial role within the College of Education IT team, leading the design and deployment of Operating Systems including application and software updates, management of AD roles and group policies, and the development of automation to support operations, all while adhering to UF security best practices. The individual in this position reports directly to the IT Support Supervisor and is time-limited.
Coordinate with Manager and sibling roles to streamline workstation administration using available tools (SCCM, Jamf, Intune. GPO) for deploying operating systems, applications, and updates. Conducts research and executes projects related to workstation automation and implementing computer security best practices. Enforce endpoint security using university-approved encryption tools and Antivirus software. Provide support for PC/Mac imaging operations as needed Manages Active Directory user onboarding, modification, and offboarding, including mailbox provisioning and administration within UF Exchange, as well as with College file server access. Analyze faculty and staff IT needs, develop technical requirements, document tasks, projects, and frequently asked questions in an online IT repository. Provide support for software and hardware issues, and assist customers in the understanding and use of computer related equipment and core software provided by the college. Manage and coordinate response to information security incidents and assist college units ensuring legal and policy compliance for University owned devices. Provides support and guidance while communicating and implementing mandatory UF security policies such as device encryption within the College of Education. Provides updates, status, and completion information to management. Coordinates activities with individual clients, help desk, network services, or other information systems groups. Administers other duties and special projects as needed and assignedOccasional travel may be required for off-site computer support.
Expected Salary:$53,000- $62,500
Minimum Requirements:Associate’s degree and four years of appropriate experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and 6 years of relevant experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate of required experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and peripherals. Knowledge of Apple Computers and Linux Systems. Knowledge of tools like SCCM, Intune, Jamf, and GPO. Knowledge of basic computer networking. Knowledge of computer network security concepts. Knowledge of graphics editing programs. Knowledge of website design and concepts. Ability to learn on the job from books and Internet resources. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with users and peers. Ability to diagnose and resolve computer problems.
