*Description* Summary: Provides medical care for patients in collaboration with a physician. Coordinates the clinical and administrative activities related to the office to ensure the delivery of quality, cost-effective patient care. Responsibilities: 1. Examines, evaluates, diagnoses and treats patients to provide expeditious, high quality, customer focused care. 2. Orders the appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures, and prescribes medical therapeutics as required to evaluate the state of the patient's medical condition. 3. Interprets and integrates data to determine the appropriateness of the therapeutic treatment plan. 4. Consults with supervising physicians in accordance with the practice's policies and medical standards to assure standards of medical care and patient satisfaction. 5. Records all symptoms, objective findings, assessment, treatment plan and other information that is appropriate in the patient's chart and signs the record. 6. Instructs the patient and family regarding the patient's diagnosis, testing, expected outcome and future prevention. 7. Evaluates the outcome of the treatment plan by reviewing diagnostic results with the patient through phone calls and return visits. 8. Performs total quality improvement processes and initiatives to achieve the Practice's mission. 9. Responsible for following departmental policies and procedures to assure service with proper risk management. 10. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position. 11. Performs other duties as assigned.
