Shift/Schedule Full time days, Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM-3:00 PM. On call requirement: Need to live within a 30 minute call window. Weekdays (Monday-Thursday) call is from close until 7:00 AM the next day. One weeknight per week. Weekend call is from close Friday until 7:00 AM Monday morning. 1 weekend every 4 weeks. Holiday call is 2 major 1 minor. (1 major is either Christmas or Thanksgiving) This is subject to change if staff changes. (If someone goes on LOA.) They are off but may be on call for the Baylor Observed Holidays: Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Year’s, July 4th, Labor Day and Memorial Day. The first 3 are major, the last 3 are minor.

Job Summary

\n

The Endoscopy Technician 1, under a Registered Nurse's supervision, assists with technical procedures, patient care, and other duties.

\n

Essential Functions of the Role

\n\nOperates and maintains equipment safely and in accordance with established policies and procedures.\nAssists physician and other designated clinical staff members in carrying out procedures which require aseptic techniques observing standard precautions.\nSafely transports cart to different areas of facility as needed; prepares patient for exam or procedure and assists physician.\nObserves patients, recognizes changes in condition and promptly seeks appropriate assistance.\nCleans room before and after procedures, takes soiled equipment to decontamination room.\nMaintains an adequate inventory of equipment and supplies for the assigned area. Places general and special supply orders from purchasing promptly.\nSets up the procedure room by ensuring all equipment and supplies are present and working.\nRestocks all supplies in assigned rooms at the end of shift.\nPerforms quality checks on equipment and ensures repairs if necessary. Cleans and disinfects specialty equipment according to established policies and procedures.\n\n

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED EquivalentEXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION

Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
