We are so glad you are interested in joining Sutter Health! **Organization:** PAMF-Sutter Maternity and Surg Ctr **Position Overview:** Follows clearly defined endoscopy procedures to provide assistance to physicians and other health care providers for the diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and prevention of injury or disease. Integrates education, technical competence and patient interaction skills to gain confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers. Supports the functionality of the department by distributing supplies and performing equipment maintenance, decontamination and setup as needed. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety to help deliver optimal patient care. **Job Description** : **JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:** GASTROENTEROLOGY SERVICES • Maintains, assembles and repairs all equipment as necessary in a manner that is safe and consistent with infection control guidelines. • Calibrates equipment and understands procedures for all treatment and tests performed. • Participates in inventory control by conducting hospital rounds to distribute and collect used supplies and ordering additional supplies as needed. • Prepares for and assists physicians in a variety of gastrointestinal tests and procedures. • Ensures that routine and priority tasks are completed within established departmental time frames. Maintain all equipment used during endoscopy procedures as needed, including inspection, sterilization, and repairs. CLERICAL • Performs general clerical tasks, such as answering phones; updating patient appointments; or retrieving, entering, and revising patient electronic health records (EHR). • Prepares and completes accurate documentation related to patient, including all procedures performed, in medical and departmental records as required. SAFETY • Maintains a clean, neat, and safe working environment, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment after each procedure and maintain a sterile environment throughout procedures. • Inspects and calibrates equipment accordingly for proper operation and records the quality control (QC) results, reporting any malfunctions to the supervisor. COMPLIANCE • Maintains strictest confidence of all patient protected health information (PHI) and protects all PHI from accidental, intentional, or inappropriate disclosure. • Performs quality care in compliance with department standards, policies, and procedures, as well as local, state and federal regulatory agencies to deliver the highest level of patient privacy and care. **EDUCATION:** HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) **CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:** BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider **SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:** General knowledge of gastrointestinal principles, procedures, views, and equipment. Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology. Well-developed written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people. Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadline. General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook). Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions. Pay Range is $37.24 to $47.83 / hour _The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
