Endpoint Services - Virtual Desktop adminstration

What success looks like in this role:

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

To manage and support AVD Session Pools having the Session Hosts deployed where Session Desktops (Virtual Desktops) and RemoteApps are hosted.

·       Manage the AVD Master Images located in the Azure Compute Gallery as part of regular Image updates, Application management and Optimization.

·       Configure and manage Session Pools based on the Sizing-requirement.

·       Should have hands on experience on Scaling of Azure resources.

·       Should have knowledge on managing Network and Storage resources where AVD Environment is configured to.

·       Good knowledge in managing Subscriptions and Respective Resource Groups.

·       Hands-on experience on VMware virtual desktop solution preferred

·       Collaborate with Cross functional teams like Endpoint Operations teams for Applications deployments and updates, Security tools management like Antivirus and Auditing tools. Provide timely and effective technical support to clients using Azure Virtual Desktop.

·       Diagnose and resolve issues related to virtual desktop connectivity, performance, and application functionality.

·       Create and update knowledge base articles and user guides to facilitate self-service for clients and to ensure shift left to Service desk (especially those related to user reported issues and are recurring).

·       Work closely with Microsoft support teams to escalate and resolve issues that require higher-level intervention.

·       Conduct training sessions to the internal AVD team as part of cross skill program.

·       Participate in all Service Management Office meetings especially lead the CAB meetings to represent AVD support change requests.

·       Regularly update operations manual with all the changes happens as part of change management process.

Necessary skills:

Strong understanding of ITIL, specific to Change & Release managementAbility and willingness to take direction from technical service delivery lead and Client ExecutivesAbility to work in a team environmentAble to adapt to a changing technical environmentAbility to coach other members of team in their area of expertiseAbility to communicate clearly with all team members and end-usersAbility to work with a sense of urgencyCustomer facing presentation and consulting skillsStrong knowledge of Microsoft PowerShell

Certifications:

ITIL Foundation (optional),

Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty

Additional requirements:

Australian CitizenNV1 Security clearance
