The Department of Physical Plant at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is seeking an Energy Analyst to join their team: Summary: + Develop and implement energy conservation measures to reduce the consumption of electricity, natural gas, steam and water at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania campus. Responsibilities include monitoring of energy markets and trends, management of rebate programs and forecasting of annual utility usage and costs for budget purposes. Collection, organization and analysis of data on energy production and consumption of mechanical building equipment and systems. Responsibilities: + Develop potential alternatives and energy-efficient improvements to mechanical systems and equipment for energy saving opportunities. + Collect, organize and analyze data on energy production and consumption of mechanical building systems. + Work with in-house mechanics to develop energy-reducing operating schedules. + Monitor metering systems for electricity, steam, natural gas and water ensuring accurate readings. + Review and verify utility bills for accuracy. + Review department utility consumption for internal billing purposes + Initiation and management of utility rebate programs. + Analysis of energy markets and trends and monitoring of the policies, regulations and legislation at the federal, state and local government levels. + Develop strategies and recommendations to promote sustainable energy use and reduce the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania’s carbon footprint. + Prepare reports, presentations and data visualizations to convey complex information in a clear and understandable manner. Credentials: + Certified Energy Manager (CEM) (Preferred) + LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) (Preferred) Education or Equivalent Experience: + Bachelor of Arts or Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or other Engineering Degree (Required) + 3+ years building energy efficiency experience (Required) + Master of Arts or Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Preferred) We believe that the best care for our patients starts with the best care for our employees.
