Energy Data Manager
The Energy Data Manager is responsible for the management of critical energy data management tasks, including streamlining operations, and enhancing our ability to make informed decisions. The Energy Data Manager will be responsible for analyzing utility usage and cost trends, supporting budget and forecasting activities, and providing essential support for various internal teams. Additionally, this position will be responsible for energy reporting and development, including the build out of AI solutions related to energy. This position will also support the Data Analysts in the performance of their responsibilities. How you will impact WestRock: * Energy Reporting and Report Automation * Management of AI solutions, Microsoft BI suite, Hyperion, HFM, EnergyCap and Smurfit Westrock\u2019s Data Lake for the purposes of energy reporting and analysis * Analyze Usage and Cost Trends: Identify anomalies in meter utilities and work with the relevant SW teams to address them. * Ad Hoc Reporting: Create reports upon request to support various business needs, including but not limited to the monthly SteerCo update reports and the Global Energy Report. * Month-End Estimates: Assist with streamlining the generation of natural gas spend estimates for integrated mills. * Budget and Forecasting Support: Assist in budget planning and forecasting for electricity and natural gas. * Savings Opportunity Tracking: Liaison with the Procurement Analytics team to track savings opportunities. * Demand-Side Support: Support the Energy Demand-side manager in their benchmarking activities to identify sites in need of efficiency projects. * Internal Training: Perform training on internal systems for SW team members. * Mentorship: Mentor Energy Data Coordinators and Analysts as needed. * Support: Data Analysts in their function, including providing training and back-up as needed. * Adhoc Tasks: Handle additional tasks as assigned by the Senior Director of Global Energy. What you need to succeed: * Four-year Bachelor\u2019s Degree Required. Masters Degree a plus. * Minimum 4 years of energy related experience preferred. * Experience in the Pulp and Paper industry. * Strong analytical skills. Ability to secure relevant information from a fact base, identify key issues and work across teams to achieve results. * Knowledge of Expensesmart, Hyperion, Online Collaboration Tools and EnergyCAP. * Knowledge of how energy is purchased and consumed in a paper converting and manufacturing business. * Some basic knowledge of accounting principles helpful * Customer focused. * Strong Excel skills. * Ability to multi-task and be proactive to achieve goals beyond what is required. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to express ideas effectively in individual and group settings to get positive results.
