We are currently seeking a Section 179D Energy Engineer to join our Tangible Asset Incentive Services team to help grow our Energy Practice. Our Tangible Asset Incentive Services team is a hybrid of tax, accounting, construction estimating, and energy modeling that provides real estate owners, investors, and designers with significant tax savings opportunities.

The Energy Engineering Manager will use software to construct commercial building energy models to evaluate the energy performance of buildings compared against industry standards.

Responsibilities:

Perform technical energy analyses on commercial building property using energy modeling software to evaluate energy efficiency of new construction, addition, and renovation projects
Conducts onsite visits to construction projects built or designed by clients to verify project details and assess overall building energy setup
Communicates with executive level leaders of clients and prospects to discuss potential for energy incentive opportunities and provides timely, high-quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations
Acts as primary client-facing professional during execution of an energy study
Provides technical leadership through establishing modeling best practices in compliance with relevant industry standards and researching alternate analysis methodologies and software programs and adheres to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality
Reviews junior members’ work product and mentors and develops junior team members
Manages and develops project budgets with proposing and executing engagements and assists with practice development
Manages multiple engagements/projects and communicates project status with internal and external clientele
Supports new business engagements by evaluating clients and their specific projects to identify and substantiate opportunities
Collaborates with marketing initiatives via articles, webcasts, and conferences to educate clients and prospects

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering required
Minimum of 5 years of related experience in engineering; emphasis in energy efficiency preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license required; ability to obtain multi-state licensure necessary
Experience with Tax Code Section 179D energy modeling preferred
LEED and CEM accreditations a plus
Experience with IRS-approved energy modeling software and proficiency in Microsoft Office software
Ability to identify technical issues, analyze information and report findings to the client
Previous experience training and leading a successful team
Ability to multi-task while maintaining careful attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to multi-task while maintaining careful attention to detail and accuracy
Willingness and ability to travel up to 30%
