**Energy Resources Summer Intern – 2025**
Tri-State is an electric power utility providing electricity to rural electric cooperatives. We have an Energy Resources Summer Intern opportunity for 2025. Students who have successfully completed two (2) years of undergraduate study towards a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Law, Energy Marketing, Project Management, Records Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university are encouraged to apply. Seniors who will be graduating in December or are planning to attend graduate school in the Fall are also encouraged to apply.
**This summer position offers students hands on opportunity to learn about the electric utility industry and gain experience in working with professionals on the Energy Management team responsible for renewable and dispatchable resource solicitations and acquisitions, power supply analysis, market and pricing analyses, policies and programs.**
**Responsibilities:** Under supervision, the intern will work with Power Supply Analysts and the Senior Manager Power Supply to document processes and develop tools the team can use that will automate certain data analysis. The intern will be working with a team of professionals that is responsible for the implementation, administration and analysis of renewable green and traditional energy resource management satisfying ever-growing regulatory requirements for greenhouse gas reductions, clean energy targets and energy requirements across CO, NM, WY and NE.
**Projects may include the following:**
+ Helping with organization of reference materials and resource related documentation
+ Renewable energy characteristics tool
+ Renewable energy credits process / accounting tool
+ Tracking major contract milestones and contract provisions tool
+ Documentation of energy resources/origination processes and procedures
+ Reviewing the above-mentioned items to summarize status, gaps, etc
**Job Requirements:**
+ Highly organized, detail oriented and analytical
+ Microsoft Teams experience
+ Medium to advanced Microsoft Word, SharePoint and Excel skills
+ Strong written and verbal communication and business skills
**Duration and Work Schedule**
+ The duration of the summer internship will be from about the end of May until the end of August.
+ The work schedule includes Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or potential flexibility of days or hours upon approval, forty hours per week. There is a possibility of telecommuting with 50% of the work week.
**Tri-State offers a competitive pay rate for this position.** The position is based at Tri-State’s Headquarters at 1100 W. 116 th Avenue, Westminster, CO 80234.
