Responsible for ensuring accurate payment of approximately $2 billion per year to energy suppliers, monitoring and ensuring accuracy of deferral accounts, satisfying all related reporting, and establishing a strong control environment. The position supports energy supply filings and hearings made before regulatory bodies (NJ BPU, PJM, FERC), and represents the Company in external working groups. Position provides analytic support to other Energy Supply or PSEG department(s) and is responsible for monitoring electric and/or gas supply markets, and for insuring Company policy is consistent with changes in the markets, and the Company is in compliance with the same. Position also serves as primary interface with energy suppliers on matters involving procurement of supply. **Job Responsibilities** •Ensure Company procurement of RECs, electric, and/or gas supply is consistent with contractual and regulatory requirements, and with energy market design and practices. Recommend and implement modifications to Company practices consistent with changes to same. Coordinate related issues with PSE&G Energy Supply management and other PSEG departments. • Responsible for ensuring accuracy of payments made to the Company’s suppliers of RECs, electric, and/or gas supply, monitoring and ensuring the accuracy of related deferral accounts, and for all related internal and external reporting. Ensures effective controls are in place throughout the related processes, and responsible for interface with internal and external auditors regarding the same. •Support energy supply filings and hearings made before regulatory bodies (NJ BPU, PJM, FERC) and directly represent the Company in external working groups and forums as subject-matter-expert and advocates for Company positions. •Provide analytical support to other Energy Supply processes (including energy settlements, credit, and supply administration), and to PSEG Accounting related to energy supply costs and revenues. •Monitor industry energy market trends (including energy, capacity, transmission, renewable and other market components), FERC Orders, PJM policies and NJ BPU orders for incorporation into PSE&G energy supply strategy and practices. Ensure PSE&G policies with regards to energy supply procurement are consistent with the same. •Primary interface with energy suppliers serving PSE&G for matters involving procurement of supply. Responsible for responding to inquiries and dispute resolution. **Job Specific Qualifications** **Required Qualifications** •Bachelor’s Degree •8 years of direct industry knowledge consistent with the basic qualifications. •Demonstrated understanding of components of electric and/or gas commodity markets – including energy, capacity, transmission, and ancillary services markets in PJM (for electric), NJ renewable requirements (for electric), and/or market drivers in the natural gas market (for gas). •Knowledge of functioning of a deregulated energy market – players and roles. •Experience establishing controls and interfacing with internal and external auditors. •Demonstrated analytical, teamwork and interpersonal skills •Demonstrated advanced functionality experience with MS Excel **Desired Qualifications** •Advanced degree in Accounting, STEM field or business related field. • Understanding of NJ energy market place, including Basic Generation Service, and/or Basic Gas Supply Service processes and policies, and/or NJ Renewable Energy programs (particularly solar). •Demonstrated understanding and experience with the PJM market settlements processes and systems, and the PJM bill. •Demonstrated understanding of transmission rate making, and accounting of transmission rates in PJM. •Knowledgeable of PJM committees and functioning. •Experience with natural gas market gas settlement activities. •Experience complying with SOX controls and requirements •Experience representing a company in an external forum. •Understanding of the energy settlement processes. •Experience with SAP. **Minimum Years of Experience** 8 years of experience **Education** **Certifications** **Disclaimer** If you are a current PSEG employee and if you are offered an opportunity with PSEG Long Island, you will be treated as a new hire.
