Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesDana Incorporated is seeking to fill Manufacturing Engineering positions for 2025 Spring, Summer, & Fall at our manufacturing facility in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. This is a great opportunity to develop your technical skills by working alongside Dana's engineers in the completion of departmental oriented tasks, projects, & assignments.
Qualifications
Enrollment & active pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Specific majors: Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Materials Science, Metallurgical, Computer Software, Electrical or Mechatronics, Information Technologies program.
• Proven work experience, strong analytical ability, & excellent mechanical aptitude.
• Self-directed & motivated individual with great organizational skills.
• Must be able to interface in a team environment.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
• Assist with manufacturing process improvements.
• Participate in quality review & corrective action implementation.
Quality Engineering Duties & Responsibilities
• Creation of quality documentation.
• Maintain records of manufacturing.
• Quality auditing & investigation.
• Inspect & test products & processes to ensure quality specifications are met.
Gear Process Engineering Duties & Responsibilities
• Work with corporate gear engineering to maximize manufacturability.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
• Assist with gear manufacturing process improvements and pre-production product.
• Perform quality studies to improve process capability.
Process Engineering Duties & Responsibilities
• Support production with continuous improvement to process design & efficiency within project timelines.
• Develop & update documentation, including process sheets, PFMEA’s & Control Plans.
• Assist in troubleshooting process & machine issues.
Controls / Automation Engineering Duties & Responsibilities
• Integrate sensors, vision systems & other devices to existing processes.
• Troubleshoot & recover line stoppages.
• Lead cross functional teams to recover & prevent line downtime.
• Identify & set up critical spares.
Metallurgical Engineering Duties & Responsibilities
• Preform metallurgical analysis on welded differential failures to identify process failures.
• Learn & understand current control plans for metallurgical & chemical labs & update as needed.
• Preform SPC analysis on all Carb’s to identify temperature reactions to carbon increases.
• Cut & prepare production samples.
• Prepare test pins for evaluation.
