Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Develop Reliability budgeting to achieve System / Subsystem, Component Reliability targets using appropriate engineering techniques, processes, and methods with minimal guidance.
2. Evaluates reliability from a standpoint of system/sub-system, components design and architecture, materials, properties and techniques.
3. Develops and implements procedures for testing the reliability of the system/subsystems.
4. Capable to manage multiple reliability projects.
5. Identify and define reliability related requirements from applicable product standards (collateral and particular).
6. Collaborate with cross-functional resources (e.g. systems, hardware, Service, Mfg., Quality, etc.) involved in Reliability process activities.
7. Establish reliability predictions, reliability testing, and post-market measurements by using relevant tools techniques and methodologies.
8. Support sustaining teams in Post Market events and Investigations.
9. Develop requirement specification and collaborate with vendors and third party suppliers to develop test systems and equipment.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Engineering degree in Mechanical or Mechanical Engineering required or Postgraduate in Reliability engineering.
2. Certified Reliability Engineer (or equivalent) preferred.
3. Electromechanical Medical Device experience is a plus.
4. Must possess strong engineering knowledge and at least 3-5 years’ experience in electromechanical disciplines and design principles, Medical Devices is a plus.
5. Requires strong systems engineering and critical thinking experience and ability.
6. Experience/expertise in the following areas:
a. Design For Reliability planning and management, establishing Reliability Requirements & Goals
b. Reliability Prediction using Parts count & Parts stress method. Good understanding on standards like MIL-HDBK-217/ Telcordia and NPRD 95.
c. Reliability modeling & allocation to set the reliability target for subsystems and components.
d. Test design, planning, execution, analysis and report writing, experience in designing or executing Accelerated Life Testing and/or Reliability Demonstration Testing preferred.
e. Understanding of statistical techniques required for use in reliability analysis and test methods.
f. Ability to perform Weibull analysis on appropriate data sets.
7. Ability to create reliability testing to align with US & international standards for vibration, thermal aging, shocks, mechanical stresses, shipping, storage, handling, etc.
8. Proficiency in understanding Root cause analysis tools like Cause effect diagram, Failure Mode and effects Analysis (FMEA’s).
9. Proficiency in developing system level Fault Tree Diagrams (FTA).
10. Knowledge and proficiency in Reliability acceleration testing techniques is an added advantage.
11. Expertise and fluency in Excel, Minitab, Windchill/Relex, Reliasoft, etc. preferred.
12. Working exposure to MATLAB, Python programming is a plus.
13. Strong critical thinking skills.
14. Requires strong leadership behaviors and polished communication skills (e.g., solid technical writing of analyses, reports, test protocols; creation & delivery of leadership-level PowerPoint presentations).
15. Able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel at multiple levels of the organization.
16. Able to work independently or with a cross-functional team.
