Raytheon Industry 4.0 – Connected Factory & Intelligence (CFI&A) has an immediate opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and innovative Automation Systems Engineer (ASE) team member within the Sensors portfolio, focusing on Sustainment of state-of-the-art robotic assembly cells.
The role includes sustaining and continuous improvement of physical automation solutions (robots, PLCs, HMIs, and vision systems) and the accompanying spares & service requirements thereof. The ability to actively manage and adapt to new problems on the factory floor is a critical aspect of the role.
What You Will Learn
This role will merge technical, manufacturing, and business knowledge to drive new innovations across Raytheon. The role has a foundation in controls engineering and will allow for knowledge growth on advanced robotic equipment that is transforming the way that Raytheon assembles product. Learning the intricacies of every custom cell and overcoming the inevitable equipment challenges, including mechanical, electrical, and programming, will be paramount to your success. The candidate will work in a highly collaborative team of automation systems engineers onsite in Andover, MA.
What You Will Do:
+ Initial triage and recovery of faults on 15+ pieces of custom robotics around the factory
+ Continuously improve and troubleshoot automation systems, primarily on Robotics, PLCs and Vision Systems
+ Integrate and manage spares inventory for active and upcoming systems
+ Manage service contracts and preventative maintenance of custom robotics
+ Liaise with manufacturing engineering and operators to understand and resolve issues
Qualifications You Must Have:
+ Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics(STEM) 2+ years of experience in controls engineering or automation engineering
+ Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment
+ The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
+ Active DoD Secret Clearance
+ Fanuc Robotics experience
+ Moderate to advance knowledge of Rockwell PLCs, HMIs and the accompanying software
+ Keyence, Cognex, iRVision experience
+ Structured text experience
+ CORE certification
The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
