General Summary

The Engine Overhaul Paint Spec II performs minimally supervised paint related tasks on engine parts and components in a safe and clean work environment according to technical publications, Duncan Aviation approved procedures, and customers’ expectations in the Engine Overhaul areas. In addition, this position performs miscellaneous duties needed in the shop such as equipment maintenance, paint storage control, shop fabrication projects, and completes timely and accurate documentation of work performed

 

Essential Job Functions

With minimal supervision, mixes paint, prepares, masks, paints, plates and applies high temp coatings to parts and components in a safe and clean work environment according to technical publications, Duncan Aviation approved procedures, and customers’ expectations.

 

With minimal supervision, details finished items including sealant, placards, markings, etc. as needed.

 

With minimal supervision, completes appropriate documentation and updates the needed information in the work order system.

 

Maintains and orders stock, paint, and supplies needed to perform the job. Monitors expiration dates of materials to ensure usability.

 

Maintains shop paint equipment and facilities by changing filters, cleaning, repairing or replacing paint equipment. Maintains media blast cabinets and ensures they are operating properly.  

 

Performs other duties as assigned by management.

 

Job Specific Requirements

Licenses/Certificates:   Respirator fit eligible

Attendance:                  Regularly scheduled attendance required

Physical:                      Routinely lifts 50 lbs., occasionally lifts 100 lbs.; reads small print; repetitive motion; works in confined spaces; tolerates products and materials associated with component maintenance; tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching and sitting

Environmental:             Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and noisy environments

                                               

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required Two years of aircraft accessory or related painting experience required
