Engine/Transmission VFG leader

1. Prioritization - identify, Prioritize and Triage field issues from various sources (QSF, Warranty, Social media, DTC, QNPS …)
2. Kick off 8Ds - Define new issues (D0/D2) and bring into Function Quality Reviews (FQR) to obtain Chief / team agreement to form team (D1) and proceed with G8D.
3. Replication – coordinate with FCSD/WS/GWC & Eng’g to 'Go See' vehicle to recreate issue (Dealer). Make arrangements to bring the team, LVEA, TS, WS together. through obtaining problem parts / vehicles and understanding customer operating conditions / noise factors and testing remotely.
4. Coach 8Ds - coach & support Engineering in problem solving through quality tools (IS/ISnot, 3L5W, Drill down analysis (to identify root causes D4 & implement effective containments in a timely manner D5/D6).
5. Run VFG / sub-FQR mtg - schedule and run VFG / FQR (or equivalent). Set the agenda based on Quality priorities (above) and pull together / summarize status updates on issue status for the Chief (chair) & team.
6. Prevent Recurrence - assist, prompt and where necessary drive LEA or Core to develop Prevent Recurrence Actions.
7. Best Practice - Develop & maintain a strong technical relationship with equivalent VFG leaders in FNA, FSAO and FoE. Ensure T6 cross plant and carline knowledge / efficiencies are utilized.
8a. Reporting - Providing updates on V29 Quality metrics, for FQR or for Global teams (stack charts with breakpoints or 3MIS Status vs Target).
8b. Reporting – Provide status updates on issues in key forums (EQR, CCRG, TDR…).

- VFG binning weekly GSAR new claims update (any increasing trend, emerging HTIS issues)
- Weekly teardown analysis update for THIS
- Proficient on using IS/IS not, Fault tree, Drill down analysis & 3L 5W are critical for problem solving
- Buy-Back (RAV), QNPS - Awareness
- New SAQ projects in define phase D0,1,2 (source WS, HTIS in IMG markets)
- Top 10 Warranty Spend
- Running Weekly QR & supporting PT Quality meetings in different time zones

+ Bachelor/master’s degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering
+ Minimum 10-12 years of working experience
+ Prior high-level work as a Powertrain/Transmission related experience
+ Prior high-level work as a Powertrain/Transmission Product Development Engineer + Issue management & Problem solving.
+ Knowledge on Powertrain as installed components, Engines, Transmission (Project management, Proficient on problem solving tools - Analytical tools such as 8D, Fault tree, 3L 5W and is/is not.)
+ Own working together: Build relationships with local and cross-functional teams, communicate clearly, drive team culture.
+ Deliver results: Strong influencing skills and leadership in a demanding environment, remote from the other regions.
+ High energy, self-starter, with ability and desire to take responsibility and deliver results with minimal supervision.
+ Ability and courage to effectively communicate key issues and recommendations to senior management.
+ Ability to work within a very diverse (culturally and functionally) environment.
+ High integrity with good attitude and excellent communication skills.
+ Ability to communicate with global team.
+ Position will require some flexibility in work schedule (Early morning and Late evenings)
