The Cloud Platform Engineer - AWS (Principal/Lead Systems) will take charge of designing, implementing, and maintaining the cloud infrastructure to drive innovation and efficiency. This role requires a strong focus on system reliability, ensuring that our platforms operate smoothly while integrating advanced analytics for future scalability. The engineer will lead cross-functional teams to document processes, provide training, and instill best practices throughout the organization. Additionally, this position emphasizes collaboration with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals, significantly improving operational workflows. The engineer will also oversee the security and compliance aspects of the cloud systems, ensuring that patient data is protected at all times.

Responsibilities Manage AWS Cloud Infrastructure - Design, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda) to ensure scalability, high availability, and optimal performance. Utilize tools such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to standardize and automate deployments.Implement AWS Security Protocols - Develop and enforce security measures such as Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies, AWS Key Management Service (KMS), security groups, and encryption. Perform regular security audits and use tools like AWS Config and GuardDuty to monitor compliance with best practices.Optimize AWS System Performance - Continuously monitor system performance using AWS CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, or third-party tools (e.g., Dynatrace) and implement solutions to enhance efficiency. Optimize resource allocation, reduce costs through Reserved Instances and Savings Plans, and troubleshoot bottlenecks. Work with Finance and FinOps to track costs and forecast usage.Develop and Maintain Disaster Recovery Plans - Design and implement disaster recovery strategies leveraging AWS services such as AWS Backup, S3 versioning, and cross-region replication. Ensure business continuity through regular testing of failover scenarios and recovery plans.Collaborate with Development Teams - Partner with DevOps and development teams to integrate AWS-native solutions into application workflows. Support containerized workloads using AWS ECS, EKS, or Fargate, and enable CI/CD pipelines through systems like AWS CodePipeline, or GitLab Runners.Monitor Compliance and Industry Standards - Ensure AWS infrastructure adheres to regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2) by leveraging tools like AWS Security Hub, AWS Config, and audit logging. Maintain up-to-date documentation of compliance measures.Provide Technical Leadership and Guidance - Mentor junior engineers on AWS best practices, architectural principles, and emerging technologies. Serve as a technical advisor to stakeholders, presenting cloud strategies and solutions effectively.Research and Evaluate AWS Technologies- Stay current with AWS service releases, enhancements, and industry trends. Evaluate emerging AWS tools and technologies to recommend solutions that align with organizational goals and improve efficiency.Documentation and ReportingMaintain detailed documentation of cloud architecture and generate reports for stakeholders on performance metrics. Qualifications Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree; Major: Computer Science, Information Technology. Degree must be from an accredited college or university.Master's degree preferred8+ Experience in lieu of required education is acceptable8+ years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on cloud infrastructure and administration.5+ years of experience working with AWS services, including designing and deploying scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions.Proficiency with core AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, CloudFront, and IAM.Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.Proven expertise in automating deployments and system workflows using tools like Ansible, AWS Systems Manager, or CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab).In-depth knowledge of networking concepts (e.g., DNS, VPNs, Load Balancers, Route 53, security groups, firewalls).Experience configuring and managing monitoring tools like AWS CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, or third-party solutions (e.g., Dynatrace).Ability to analyze and optimize system performance and troubleshoot resource bottlenecks.

and improve overall system efficiency and reliability.Time Management - Balance competing priorities, allocate time efficiently for critical tasks such as infrastructure provisioning, system monitoring, and incident resolution, and ensure project deadlines are consistently met.Customer Orientation - Understand the needs of internal and external clients, tailoring cloud solutions to meet their requirements and providing exceptional support to ensure satisfaction and success.
