Engineer, Homologation

Lucid is currently seeking a Homologation Engineer, with a focus on EV range and efficiency. This position requires a motivated individual with understanding of current and future EV environmental regulations who has the capability to research, interpret and document homologation requirements. The successful candidate will interact cross functionally throughout the business and will be provided an opportunity for exposure to a variety of engineering disciplines. A positive working attitude, a strong desire to learn and the ability to quickly establish themselves within a team are must-haves.
The Role
Work on Homologation regulatory requirements, reports, and processes with authorities like EPA, CARB, Environment Canada, Transport Canada, etc. Create and maintain MY specific regulatory applications and reports (CAFE, GHG, ZEV, etc.) for North America marketTrack timely running changes and ensure timely reportingWork on different regulatory databases such as EV-CIS, E-cert, E-file, VEERR, etc. Carry out/manage in-house and third-party regulatory testing prior to major regulatory approval events.Develop working knowledge of existing and future automotive regulationsParticipate in Homologation program management, helping to effectively plan for upcoming changes in relevant regulationsAssist manufacturing with tasks like labelling, COP, timely Homologation updates, etc., as needed
Qualifications
General understanding of Automotive world Basic Mechanical and Electrical understanding of EVsExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cross functionally Excellent communication skills (able to clearly communicate with internal and external stakeholders)Ability to travel domestically as needed, with potential for some international travelAbility to perform under time sensitive circumstances and deliver resultsValid US Driver’s license
Advantageous
Experience in Automotive regulatory compliance Experience in supporting testing for regulatory approvalsExperience working with regulatory authorities like EPA, CARB, NHTSA, UN ministries, etc.Familiarity with change and project management principles
Education
BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
