Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Warranty Engineering, Finance, and Technology – Warranty Apportionment team is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Engineer.
The primary responsibility of this role is to use warranty responsibility apportionment to promote quality improvement and improve customer satisfaction.
Reporting to the Warranty Apportionment Manager, the Engineer, Quality-Warranty will support the thorough technical analysis of Warranty Data and the development, maintenance, and improvement of warranty systems with the objective to determine the technical responsibility of the Suppliers, Plants, and Design to determine the related cost allocation for warranty issues. The team member will also outline and recommend action based on thorough analysis of this data.
What you’ll be doing
Supplier Warranty Cost Share – performing responsibility apportionment by working with NAMCs and suppliers to ensure they provide thorough technical analysis of field issues; judge completeness and accuracy of supplier submissions through review of drawings, field data, and technical evidence from other groups; determine fair, accurate, and timely technical responsibility share rates.Respond and resolve supplier inquiries and concerns with appropriate prioritization, communication, and escalation, as necessary.Develop, maintain, and improve warranty systems and processes for monthly warranty claim settlement and apportionment of all claims / costs against North American vehicles.Analyze warranty data, draw conclusions, and present findings using appropriate visualization methods to allow consistent understanding by members from multiple functions (ex: Quality Steering Committee, A&F Reserves, PWC audit).Recommend and implement process improvements related to daily work to improve efficiency and results for the section and customers of the process.What you bring
Bachelor’s Degree (or higher)Professional experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Design, or EvaluationExperience with technical analysis of manufacturing processes and subsequent automotive component or part failuresData analysis and interpretation experience, used to formulate conclusions and develop strategiesExperience using effective written and verbal communication skillsExperience reviewing design drawings/blueprint interpretationPreferred If you have
Experience leading cross-functional projects or activitiesProfessional experience in accounting and/or IT systemsExperience and understanding of potential failure modes, effects, and related evaluation methodsExperience related to role and responsibilities of design, manufacturing, and supplier ((ex: contract documents such as Toyota Technical Information Manual (TTIM), Request for Design and Development of Parts (RDDP), Supplier Quality Assurance Manual (SQAM), etc.))Experience with systems and databases, for understanding warranty systems processing and automating processes (Programming Languages/RPA Tools)Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification (A1-A8) and/or American Society for Quality (ASQ) CertificationBelonging at Toyota
