Our operations team is dedicated to supporting all applications within these channels and the processes that govern them. We accomplish this by applying the discipline of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), popularized by Google, which incorporates principles of software engineering across the operations landscape. We are seeking a driven and passionate Software Engineer to join our unique and dynamic team. In this role, you will be a key player in developing complex software solutions designed to automate and eliminate work using a highly specific collection of technologies.
Technologies
Candidates are expected to possess working knowledge in at least three of the following technologies:
Reactive Java Development - Reactive Programming with RxJava or similar, including developing asynchronous, non-blocking applications.
Kafka Event Streaming - Apache Kafka for building and managing event-driven architectures.
Redis Expertise - Redis data structures and experience in deploying and managing Redis instances.
Redis Cluster - Redis Cluster, including setting up and managing distributed environments for scalability and high availability.
Redis TimeSeries - Redis TimeSeries for handling high-volume time series data, including integration with monitoring tools.
Containerization - Containerization technologies, including Kubernetes, Docker, and Rancher, for deploying and managing containerized applications.

Key Responsibilities:
Develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards and best practices.
Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques.
Adopts continuous improvement and learning.
Handles project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables proactively.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to a Technology Manager/Director.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.
Experience: One or more years of technology experience.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proficiency of at least one programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, etc. Knowledge of software development lifecycle. Good problem-solving skills. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
Other criteria, such as competencies and experiences, may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the Director and HR Officer.
