The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.
Seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Project Engineer – Civil (CDF Projects) on a Project- based employment who will be responsible for providing a safe, effective, and efficient Community Development Fund Projects in alignment with OceanaGold Values and Objectives through safe, careful planning, efficient and effective management, architecture, engineering and civil construction, maintenance, courageous execution, and other related services for the CDF Projects. The role will be based either at Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya or Cabarroguis, Quirino and will report to the Community Development Fund (CDF) Senior Engineer.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
Plans and prepares designs and program of works of community infrastructure projectsProvides technical/engineering assistance to community partnersInitiates the monitoring and evaluation of community infrastructure projects, coordinates and updates progress and collaborate with other teams and partners in addressing project concernsEnsures strict implementation of OGPI QA/QC standards and other governing standards e.i. DPWH, National Structural code, National Building Code, AISC, ACI, etc. to community infrastructure projects from start to completionResponsible for the technical assessment and evaluation of requirements for the contractor’s accreditationEnsures that contractors are following legal requirements, owner specifications and government regulationsAssists in the tendering of CDF community infrastructure projectsEnsures timely submission of report data and/or regularly generates technical reports on the status of various community projectsResponsible in the preparations and organization of all necessary documents, technical or non- technical, needed prior to, during and after the implementation of community infrastructure projectsMaintain an up-to-date project database for the projectsDevelops strategies to increase social and functional engagement with stakeholdersQualificationsBehaviour consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGold WayLicensed Civil EngineerPreferably a holder of Master Plumber Certificate/licenseMust have at least 4 years of experience in civil works planning, design and construction work programmingMust have at least 3 years of supervisory experience in civil construction projects or experience in construction managementWith a valid Professional Driver’s LicenseEfficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Power PointKnowledgeable in AUTOCAD, SKETCHUP, CIVIL3D AND STAAD Operation;With BOSH/COSH/Safety Officer Certification is an advantageGood interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and writtenDrive for continuous improvement and innovationAdditional InformationWHAT'S ON OFFER:
