Engineer

We are currently seeking an experienced hands-on Civil or Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in structural design, a proven background in mechanical engineering to handle product design, engineering calculations and the product information process and welding principles.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing and analyzing structural components, with proficiency in industry-standard CAD software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or Solid Edge. Duties will include all aspects of custom design for specialized overhead lifting devices, spreader beams and industrial magnets for our heavy industry and manufacturing customers.
Engineer Role & Responsibilities
+ Oversees the entire project from design, estimation to completion.
+ Creates and verifies layout, detail, load, structural drawings, schematics, and equipment specifications.
+ Works collaboratively with all internal and external groups to meet our customers’ needs effectively and efficiently.
+ Anticipates, adjusts, and resolves problems, roadblocks, and risks by collaborating with project lead and design team.
+ Works with vendors to procure and coordinate materials, equipment, and shop technicians to maximize project profitability.
+ Provides detailed multi-view drawings based on engineering data and standard references and provides technical assistance to corresponding departments.
+ Be creative, have sound judgment, technical knowledge, and excellent communication skills.
Engineer Requirements & Qualifications
Knowledge: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Technology preferred; Associate degree and work experience considered.
+ 3 -5 years of recent product design experience, preferably with overhead cranes, heavy lifting equipment or heavy industrial machinery.
+ 3+ years of experience in structural design and welding applications
+ Apply welding design principles and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards
+ Knowledge of fabrication and construction practices
+ Knowledge of assembly, welding, hydraulics, AC / DC electrical systems, strength of materials, and mobile lifting mechanics.
+ Continuously update knowledge of the most cost-effective means of design and manufacture.
+ Hands-on work environment preferred.
Skills:
+ Occasional job-site travel required. 3-4 times per year average.
+ Drawing archiving management.
+ Proficient in 3D and 2D AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Inventor
+ Finite Element Analysis a plus.
+ Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, MS Project
