SUMMARY:

Performs a variety of engineering work related to areas such as design, production, manufacturing, testing, and equipment troubleshooting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· As required by the business, works with various products, equipment and disciplines to expand component repair, overhaul, and testing capabilities.

· Operates computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks. Experience in any 3D CAD software is a requirement, but knowledge of modeling experience in SolidWorks is preferred.

· Experience creating/interpreting electrical and mechanical schematic drawings is a requirement. Experience interpreting aviation repair manuals is preferred.

· Knowledge of fluid dynamics, pneumatic systems, thermodynamics, and electro-mechanical systems preferred.

· Gathers, coordinates and applies basic engineering data using established and appropriate or defined engineering principles and procedures.

· Applies area of specialty to design, develop, implement and maintain creative and innovative solutions to difficult problems.

· Limited interaction with customers under supervision.

· Create and maintain tooling drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs) and process routings for component repair, overhaul, and testing procedures.

· Provide Engineering and technical support to production, purchasing, marketing, and customers.

· May be required to travel to customer sites.

· All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor of Science degree BS from four-year college or university; or eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, methods, and is disciplined in their application. Minimum of two years of experience in the Engineering area. Strong mechanical aptitude is a plus.

The environmental characteristic for this position is an office setting, but the employee will be required to work directly in the shop at times.
