Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday 06:00am-14:00pm and 14:00pm-22:00pm rotating weekly.
Salary: £41,000 P/A - £44,000 P/A.
Job DescriptionThe post holder must be able to work under pressure both as part of a team and on own initiative. Must also be able to communicate effectively to ensure the smooth running of the department. Must be able to make own decisions and liaise with other department colleagues and/or departments.
Assisting the Production team where possible:-Providing engineering solutions and assist in an operational capacityMonitoring all machines and ancillary plantFollow preventative maintenance and lubrication schedulesRepairs during productionPlanned maintenanceInspection outside production hours some week end overtime working will be required to suit the business needsIdeally you may have worked with packaging machinery within FMCG environment with Supporting collage/technical qualifications in line with Engineering experience to dateFamiliar with maintaining packing equipmentExperience of pneumatics including Horizontal flow packers, Vertical form fill baggers, Carton erectors, Gluing systems, Met /dets, Checkweighrers, Pallet wrapping m/c, Shrink wrapping, & Various bespoke hand packing / labelling lines some with printers. To carry out scheduled work to restore machines and site back to standard.To carry out change overs when required.Look for opportunities to continuously improve machine performance.To follow set procedures and guidelines with respect to:-Food safety, Hygiene.Health and Safety, Lock off etc.To assist in colleague training and development when required.To ensure that good work practices and housekeeping are adhered to.Drive own personal development through training and work based experience.To undertake such other duties as may be required from time to time, that reasonably fall within the scope and grade of the postQualificationsEngineer experienced with Electrical and Mechanical with servicing and fixing packing Machinery. Experience of working in a food factory environment would be advantageousFully complete apprenticeship is desirable, with packing experienceBasic computer literacy.Able to communicate and motivate others is an essential part of the role. Understanding of internal systems and processes, with the ability to work within these parameters. An understanding of health and safety requirements is essential.Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive disposition, and a clear focus on meeting deadlines.
