Who We’re Looking For
Toyota’s Environmental & Facilities (E & F) Planning Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Engineer.
The primary responsibility of this role is to be the strategic functional lead for construction and renovation project cost estimates for Toyota across North America. A successful candidate will apply their engineering and problem-solving skills to improve the state-of-the-art for all Planning Department projects.
Reporting to a Planning SME Manager, the person in this role will support the E & F Environmental, Project Implementation and Project Planning sections to develop high quality and accurate capital planning studies for industrial and commercial buildings that meet business and customer needs.
What You’ll Be Doing
Functional Lead for the Environmental & Facilities Planning Estimates team
Business processes and standards
Estimating tools and software development & training
Daily work assignments & completion
Quality assurance
Understand and apply market dynamics
Support cost planning and project development for new large-scale construction and renovation projects across Toyota’s North American portfolio
Understand and Reflect on historical projects for application to future plans and costs.
Perform cost analysis of projects currently proposed or recently completed using conceptual designs & engineered drawings.
Provide technical support to project managers in areas of bid preparation and analysis.
Identify areas of high cost and support project managers to improve and save.
Develop and/or support project justifications, business cases, decision making and presentations for management.
Investigate building industry trends, global Toyota trends and current/past building issues.
Introduce innovation and improvements for Toyota North American project planning.
What you bring
Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in an Engineering discipline
Industrial or Commercial Design or Project Management experience (minimum 5 years)
Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar qualification
Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point and Projects proficiency
What you may bring
Cost estimating experience for building construction
Professional Engineering (PE) License
Building Construction Project Management experience
Facilities Operational experience at an Industrial Manufacturer
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, etc
