ENGINEER-ENVIRONMENTAL (Riverville Mill)

We are seeking resumes for an Environmental Engineer at our Gladstone, VA Riverville Mill.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate environmental problems and develop practical, cost-effective solutions, often related to pollution, climate change, and sustainability. Design, test, and implement systems for clean water supply, wastewater treatment, air pollution control, and waste management.  Ensure projects and facilities comply with federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations, and help obtain necessary permits.  Collect and analyze environmental data to monitor pollution levels, assess environmental impacts, and inform project planning.  Interact closely with operations, maintenance, engineering and process control personnel in the accomplishment of assigned tasks. Environmental review of trial plans for process changes and chemical trials.

 

Basic Qualifications 

Education – Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science Experience - A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a chemical/manufacturing facility

 

Preferred Qualifications 

Must possess a strong work ethic and leadership qualities.  Strong attention to detail Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple projects and/or requests concurrently.

 

Knowledge and Skills Required

Problem Solving: Ability to find creative and effective solutions to complex environmental challenges.  Analytical Skills: Strong capabilities for analyzing data and evaluating scientific information to develop accurate assessments.  Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present findings, write reports, and collaborate with diverse teams of scientists, engineers, and public officials.  Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of scientific principles from fields like biology, chemistry, and soil science, in addition to engineering.
