Engineer - Global Packaging Asset Delivery

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$64,500 - $167,200

The Global Packaging group is responsible for providing engineering and technical support for Lilly commercial packaging operations worldwide.  The group is also responsible for integration with the development organization as it relates to the delivery of packaging for new molecules and line extensions.

The Engineer in this role is responsible for providing engineering and technical support for processes, materials, systems, and equipment associated with packaging.  In addition, they are accountable for leading, providing technical expertise and/or managing key cross-functional projects & initiatives that are owned and/or facilitated by Global Packaging in an effort to drive improvements in quality and efficiency globally.

Responsibilities:

Analysis of operations, workflows and packaging process to provide solutions to maximize efficiency and reduce waste.Assist Packaging sites globally with developing and implementing process improvements and technology upgrades that help with minimizing costs and production issues.Assist with building process flow models to predict bottlenecks and resources needed for projects.Major Capital Support - Provide technical leadership, both conceptual and detailed design, to Global Facilities Delivery on major capital projects; support the Design Delivery Gate Review process by maintaining Gate protocols and executing gates on major projects.Knowledge sharing - Provide ongoing technical support to site packaging engineering groups, domestic and global; provide technical mentoring to Lilly engineers.  Reviews and prepares presentations and technical reports.

Basic Requirements: 

Bachelors degree in Engineering3+ years of engineering experience in plant, process, project delivery, maintenance or related fields supporting packaging operations

Additional Preferences:

Experience with packaging equipment, specifications, qualification/validation process, product/package stability, and packaging componentsExperience with vendor management, including selection & qualificationStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and with minimal direction
