Engineer I, Delivery Stream

The Engineer will be responsible for verifying quality and technical requirements for projects, products, and service deliveries from Westinghouse – from bid phase and component design through manufacturing. 
 Evaluate new and existing suppliers as requested delivery stream office, interface with customer, manage multiple projects and opportunities for AP1000, AP300, eVinci and other products within the Energy Systems Portfolio and reporting.


Delivery Stream Engineer is responsible for:

Supplier Assessment: 

Drive/Support Supplier Identification Drive/Support completion of Supplier Audits and Technical Evaluations (as needed) Drive/Support completion of NDA/PIA negotiations (as needed) Lead RFQ package creation (i.e., draft requisition for RFQ including all technical and quality requirements) Lead Supplier Design Proposal / Compliance Matrix reviews Supplier Oversight:  Creating the Manufacturing and Process Plan estimates for use in design option selection or validation of cost and schedule.  Executing technical witness and hold points Supporting the project management team to interface with Supplier Quality support organizations

 

Supplier Development & Management: 

Lead Kick-Off meeting with chosen supplier Conduct regularly scheduled meetings (e.g., bi-weekly, weekly, etc.) with Supplier and Westinghouse Project Support Team Manage/Drive Westinghouse Project Support Team Manage execution of required Witness and Hold Points Hold pre-job briefs and/or kick-offs for important/critical PO manufacturing activities Drive/Support PO Change Notices (as needed) Provide Project Schedule Updates Provide Customer Status Updates Ensure all required PO scope is complete, including fabrication, testing and documentation. Ensure the Westinghouse Quality Release (QR) has been completed. Ensure the QR and associated Quality Assurance Data Package (QADP) have been archived in PRIME.Send QR/QADP to the site or customer (as defined by the project) after it has been archived in PRIME to aid in receipt and turnover of equipment. Work with Westinghouse Logistics to arrange for shipment. Complying with applicable procedures and standards and ensuring all standards and processes are adequately described in Level 2 and 3 procedures

 

 

Requirements: 

Master’s Degree or higher in Mechanical/ Electrical/Civil/Power Engineering Experience preferred in the Power Industry but could be in any of the following industries: Oil & Gas, pipelines, refineries, offshore production platforms, and/or manufacturing plants Be familiar with Manufacturing Capability assessment concept/Supplier technical evaluation. Fluent in English Willing to travel to support emergent project issues/supplier development. Candidate must meet the criteria for access to the company’s, partners’ and clients ‘technologies High level of communication Proactive Questioning attitude Result oriented Driver approach – decision maker Team building 30-40% in Eastern Europe (Poland, Hungaria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, …) Willing to travel periodically to WEC offices in Krakow and/or Warsaw
