Lounge Services team is part of the Amex's Membership Services team. We make membership an indisputable competitive advantage by being part of the American Express Card Members digital's journey to find, access and experience lounges. We are committed to delivering innovative and scalable solutions that drive our business forward.
We are looking for a versatile and skilled Frontend Engineer to join our team. As a Frontend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in crafting exceptional user experiences for our products. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and optimize frontend solutions, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
**Responsibilities:**
* Hands-on architecture, design, and development of systems, ensuring seamless integration with backend services.
* Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate design wireframes into efficient, responsive code.
* Work with frontend and backend teams to ensure seamless integration of components.
* Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable and robust software applications.
* Implement and maintain APIs, connecting frontend and backend functionalities.
* Participate in code reviews, maintain code quality, and troubleshoot issues.
* Stay updated on emerging frontend technologies and share insights within the team.
* Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
**Qualifications:**
* Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science or related field.
* Expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frontend frameworks (React, NextJS)
* 3 years of experience with REACT/Redux
* 3 Expertise with integrating RESTful APIs
* Experience in Debugging, Trace and fixing End to End issues.
* Strong understanding of web performance, cross-browser compatibility, and responsive design.
* Adept at state management, hooks, and component lifecycle.
* Solid understanding of asynchronous programming and RESTful API integration.
* Knowledge of databases, API design, and server-side architecture.
* Experience with version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for delivering high-quality applications.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Knowledge of server-side rendering and performance optimization techniques.
* Experience with Amex’s internal tools and frameworks such as OneApp, a plus
* Familiarity with containerization (e.g. Docker) and orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes).
* Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, etc.).
* Good understanding of microservices architecture.
