As a Frontend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in crafting exceptional user experiences for our products. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and optimize frontend solutions, ensuring high performance and responsiveness. **Responsibilities:** * Hands-on architecture, design, and development of systems, ensuring seamless integration with backend services. * Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate design wireframes into efficient, responsive code. * Work with frontend and backend teams to ensure seamless integration of components. * Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable and robust software applications. * Implement and maintain APIs, connecting frontend and backend functionalities. * Participate in code reviews, maintain code quality, and troubleshoot issues. * Stay updated on emerging frontend technologies and share insights within the team. * Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. **Qualifications:** * Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science or related field. * Expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frontend frameworks (React, NextJS) * 3 years of experience with REACT/Redux * 3 Expertise with integrating RESTful APIs * Experience in Debugging, Trace and fixing End to End issues. * Strong understanding of web performance, cross-browser compatibility, and responsive design. * Adept at state management, hooks, and component lifecycle. * Solid understanding of asynchronous programming and RESTful API integration. * Knowledge of databases, API design, and server-side architecture. * Experience with version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms. * Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for delivering high-quality applications. **Preferred Qualifications:** * Knowledge of server-side rendering and performance optimization techniques. * Experience with Amex’s internal tools and frameworks such as OneApp, a plus * Familiarity with containerization (e.g. Docker) and orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes). * Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, etc.). * Good understanding of microservices architecture. **Qualifications** We back our colleagues and their loved ones with benefits and programs that support their holistic well-being.
