The Engineer II (DE) position requires a creative problem solver who is passionate about client service and data quality. This role will work with the Project Manager and Senior Data Engineers to produce timely, best-in-class deliverables. This role specializes in making full use of dynamic, automated systems that aid in processing, analyzing, and preparing property assessment and taxation data for consumption by clients to fit their varying level of needs.Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results

Uses Ryan’s internal tools to help obtain, normalize, and verify data for accuracy and precision.Assists senior team members in processing and preparing data for clients using Ryan’s internal tools.Performs data analysis and manipulation to generate the product for client delivery.Collaborates with remote and local teammates to ensure efficient design and timely completion of deliverables.Consults with other team members on ways to improve and better utilize our automated systems.Assists senior team members in managing data projects and timelines and can lead that effort, if necessary.Value:
Assists in the acquisition, extraction, and normalization of property tax data.Analyzes data from government entities to verify accuracy and completeness.Compares data from government entities to client data to ensure it is accurate and normalized for ease of consumption.Develops and deploys data extraction technologies to perform data extractions from received data sets in various formats (delimited, fixed width, database, etc.) as well as websites.Demonstrates full understanding and working knowledge of data processing life cycle.Manipulates data using SQL, Python, and proprietary software.Analyzes large data at terabyte scale using modern database technologies.Develops code in SQL or Python to support normalization process and contribute to existing code bases.Performs other duties as assigned.Education and Experience:
BS in information systems or computer science. Other STEM degrees with relevant work experience or coursework are considered.4+ years of full-time work experience. Property tax experience is considered a differentiator.Experience with an enterprise or MySQL database is a plus.Computer Skills:
The candidate must have a strong command of SQL and use it for data manipulation, loading, and processing, as well as Python, to perform successfully. Ability to work in the Microsoft Office suite is required.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid driver’s license required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The position requires no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
