Engineer II, EHS

As an Engineer II, EHS, you will play a crucial role in our organization by designing and leading EHS operational strategies and process improvements.

You’ll make an impact by:

Evaluating environmental and safety needs with a focus on air permitting, wastewater solutions, ergonomics, and hazardous materials/waste; proposing options and implementation plans.Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement processes to ensure compliance with EHS goals and programs.Providing EHS expertise for new processes, new products, and technologies, and participating in the change control process of the site.Researching, analyzing, and evaluating data to create routine reports in response to internal requests.Investigating root causes for EHS incidents and deviations from compliance, recommending corrective and preventive measures, and providing feedback to relevant stakeholders.Developing and revising EHS training and written programs to ensure compliance with all applicable EHS regulations, delivering training as necessary.Conducting periodic internal inspections and audits at the site to ensure continuous compliance with applicable regulations and providing guidance to appropriate team members.Acting as a liaison with government agencies for EHS managers as assigned by the Manager.Participating in emergency response activities and other duties as assigned by management.

What You’ll Need:

Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience ORMaster's Degree or equivalent in internship, senior projects, or thesis in Engineering, Scientific, or EHS related including either industry or industry/education Required

What Else We Look For:

Proficiency in MS Office Suite.Strong documentation, communication, and interpersonal relationship skills, including negotiating and relationship management.Solid understanding and knowledge of EPA, OSHA, NRC, local, and federal regulations.Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.Solid understanding of processes and equipment used in assigned work.Knowledge of and adherence to Edwards Environmental Health and Safety and Quality standards.Strict attention to detail.Ability to develop and integrate metrics into the projects and operations that clearly demonstrate the value of EHS to the business.Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels.Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Must be able to work in a team environment, including managing suppliers and project stakeholders.Ability to build productive internal/external working relationships.Adherence to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures to prevent injuries and protect the environment.

Aligning our overall business objectives with performance, we offer competitive salaries, performance-based incentives, and a wide variety of benefits programs to address the diverse individual needs of our employees and their families.

For California, the base pay range for this position is $70,000 to $100,000 (highly experienced).

The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).  Applications will be accepted while this position is posted on our Careers website.
