The Engineer II, Field Applications role at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. in Singapore offers an outstanding opportunity to work in a world-class, innovative environment. You will be an integral part of our APAC technical support team, providing outstanding support for advanced diagnostic solutions. This role combines engineering and application specialist tasks to guarantee flawless performance and user happiness for our equipment and assays. Your expertise will drive successful implementation and maintenance of our diagnostic systems, ensuring efficient efficiency and reliability.

Responsibilities

Log, manage, and resolve cases from receipt to closure, advancing to global support or relevant departments when necessary.Perform service and support tasks at customer sites, including troubleshooting, repair, installation, preventive maintenance, training, and hotline support, strictly following manufacturer guidelines to ensure peak uptime.Be prepared to attend to technical inquiries and on-site troubleshooting promptly.Travel within the APAC region to support channel partners and attend training at headquarters, up to 30% of the time, often on short notice.Collaborate with functional and cross-functional teams on projects and events, including crafting technical content for newsletters, coordinating Channel Partner revalidation tests, prioritizing workshops, and facilitating meetings.Provide technical expertise to functional teams, channel partners, subsidiaries, and headquarters.Maintain clear and effective communication to keep colleagues and reporting lines updated on issues and support needs.Submit expenses and manage stock inventory (spare parts, reagents, tools, and consumables) promptly and accurately.Undertake other assignments as necessary to meet Thermo Fisher Scientific's technical support goals.Assist with basic office paperwork, including local customer fulfillment documentation.

Requirements and Key to Success

Education:

Recognized Degree in Science (Biomedical/Medical Technology), Engineering, or Mechanical. Equivalent experience in any of these fields is also acceptable. Candidates without an engineering background are welcome to apply.

Knowledge and Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in handling/supporting IVD analyzers and assays.Proven track record in customer service and technical support.Strong communication skills for customer interactions.Hands-on experience with IVD analyzers.

Skills:

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with effective decision-making abilities.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Customer-facing experience.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in presentations and public speaking.IT literacy.
