Duties:
Designs Mechanical & Hydraulic components for refuse vehicles.Applies & demonstrates engineering design-best-practices & value engineering during project development.Develop, implement, & maintain design standards, guides, & procedures.Ensure design follows design criteria, standards, & specifications as well as local codes & regulations.Lead & completes continuous improvement design projects.Ensure procurement packages follow design criteria, standards, & specifications.Follow Project Management Process & Procedures.Communicate change orders & execute change management processes.Provide project technical support — familiarity with risk assessments, design reviews, etc.Maintain a strong focus on quality, cost, & overall customer value.Telecommuting permitted up to 1 day per week. Domestic travel required up to 10%.
Requirements: Must have a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field and 3 years of related work experience.
Must have 2 years of experience in each the following:
Creo Parametric or Solidworks;Documenting Bill of Materials and Design Changes using MS Office Tools (Excel, Word and PowerPoint );Designing Mechanical components for refuse or other vehicles, leveraging 3D software like Creo and Solidworks; andReleasing new product design in PLM Tools, like Windchill or SolidWorks Manage, through Engineering Change Orders (ECO's) which includes releases of Drawings, Bill of Materials, and change notices.Telecommuting permitted up to 1 day per week. Domestic travel required up to 10%.
